It was almost as surprising for me as it was for him! The romance was sweet, even if it took a while to get there. I enjoyed watching Peter finally figuring out why he’d been fighting on and off with Hook for most of their lives. This book never loses hope, even in the dark. This was beautifully written with a light, fun, tone which worked well, considering the darkness Peter found himself in. While this uses all the characters and the world from the original, Austin Chant made this his own in some very surprising ways I can’t talk about because of spoilers. The story, and the author's world-building was very thought-provoking. It took me awhile to get into it, but once I was in, I was IN. Personal Thoughts: This was an imaginative sequel to Barrie’s original Peter Pan. LGBTQ+ Orientation: Transgender male and gay Even more shocking is the attraction Peter never knew he could feel for his old rival, Captain Hook-and the realization that he no longer knows which of them is the real villain. But when he returns to Neverland, everything has changed: the Lost Boys have become men, and the war games they once played are now real and deadly. Growing up, however, has only made him realize how inescapable his identity as a man is. Summary: Ten years ago, Peter Pan left Neverland to grow up, leaving behind his adolescent dreams of boyhood and resigning himself to life as Wendy Darling.

5/22/2023 0 Comments Oliver & twistKnowing time is of the essence for the Cardinals to turn around their season, could they take a page out of the Philadelphia Phillies playbook from last season? The Phillies axed Joe Girardi after the team’s 22-29 start and elevated bench coach Rob Thomson to the role of interim manager. Instead, the Cardinals enter play on Friday with a 10-22 record, the worst mark of any NL team. Louis Cardinals to repeat as champions of the National League Central with a lineup that included reigning NL Most Valuable Player Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, free agent signing Willson Contreras, and plenty of other weapons. The question certainly isn’t out of the realm of possibilities. Will the shocking slow start be enough to cost manager Oliver Marmol his job? 5/22/2023 0 Comments Johnny got his gun full bookBut, alas, I will have to wait awhile before I take it up again. As soon as I realized what was happening to ME as I was listening to the introduction I turned it off and found the beginning of the book. It set HER tone, justified though it might be, not mine. It just didn't belong at the beginning of a book that I wanted to discover for myself. I'm not saying that her outrage is unjustified. It also gave away much more of the plot than I remember from the movie and certainly more than I wanted to hear before reading the book myself. Unfortunately, I didn't know (or didn't pay attention to) the fact that there was to be an introduction by a mother who had lost her son in Iraq that was intended to create a sense of the outrage she felt at losing her son in a war that was unjustified. I finally purchased it from Audible a few days ago. I saw the movie in 1971 when I was a teenager and had wanted to read the book ever since. 5/22/2023 0 Comments The Duke's Bride by Erica RidleyHe’ll be the one to marry her, no matter what she wants!
